Nest&Net

is a project dedicated to creating an international network of artists.

Through cooperation and artistic exchange: artist residencies, workshops, guest artist presentations, group exhibitions with strong interaction with the public, we are looking for the visions and tools to: improve each other's ways of working and learn from experiences elsewhere.

To start, we are doing this by building a link between two artist colonies where we work and which have completely different management:

Les Ateliers de la Morinerie

are a private property in the Loire Valley, managed by Mme Annie Catelas, and supported by its owner, the company CLEN and its director Mr Xavier Catelas, Annie's husband.

Les Ateliers de la Morinerie brings together around 160 artists and craftsmen and 50 NPOs over an area of 15,000 m².

DomagkAteliers

with 101 workshops are a property of the City of Munich. Supported by Cultural Department of the City of Munich, they are self-managed by NPO Domagkateliers, gGmbH. We thank the artist Gotlind Timmermanns for her contribution to the development of this project.

We have chosen to work in an interdisciplinary way, with artists whose research focuses on :
the relationship between man and the environment, the impact of place on the creation of artwork, the impact of historical heritage on the relationship between man/nature and man/his residence, recycling, sustainability, new forms of artistic and social interaction, the tracing of biomimetic structures, sensory openness.

Nest&Net Artists residencies

Residency it is not a matter only to give a place, but the different manner of view, and not only to invited artist but also to host.

Short-term residency is chosen so that the invited artists have an intense and experimental time. The discovery of new environment, connection and exchange of experiences with the artists on site on themes, techniques, approaches, artistic positions as well as social anchoring will open new perspectives.
